Planning balcony works in a condo or HDB flat? Approvals are usually straightforward when you prepare the right documents. Here's a plain-English overview.
Condo (MCST) approval
Most condominiums have a renovation guideline (approved colours, working hours, and the documents your managing agent needs). A renovation/management deposit is paid by the home owner to the managing agent (MA) before work starts and is typically refunded after inspection. We help prepare the submission details (product specs, colours, drawings) so approval is smooth.
HDB works
For HDB, engage an HDB-registered contractor, fix to the correct structure, and stay within your boundary. Some works have specific rules — we advise on what applies to your item (e.g., invisible grilles, awnings).
What to prepare
- Product specification and colour
- Simple drawing or photo of the balcony
- Contractor details and insurance where required
- The deposit (paid by owner to MA/MCST)
